You Are Your Own Greatest Resource . . .

Welcome to CynicSelfHelp.com, a site dedicated to the supremacy of the individual and self-transformation. In a noisy, fragmented, and frequently dysfunctional world, it's easy to lose sight of our common interests and humanity. But the truth is we possess both uniqueness and universality. Whether we're drawn to the transformation of art, the salvation of religion, or the integration of psychology, there is a human desire for wholeness and completion.

The greatest growth—the only growth for that matter—is that which is generated and experienced from within. You don't need decades of therapy. You don't need a lifetime prescription to sedate your mind. You don't need the external validation of organized religion. And you certainly don't need the mediocre carnie bullshit of the Self-Help Industry.

From the Renaissance to the Age of Enlightenment, the great epochs of civilization occurred when a critical mass of individuals believed in their own greatness, goodness, and inalienable rights. You truly are your own greatest resource. Yes, we are interdependent. Yes, it's difficult to do everything on your own and in a vacuum. But you are as much responsible (as we all are) for creating this world as it is for creating you. Strive for personal greatness (without taking yourself too seriously) and then find ways to share that greatness. The rest of life will work itself out.

This website seeks simply to function as a rest area along the highway of your own personal journey. If you miss it, no big deal. Life has no shortage of pit stops, just as you have no shortage of resources. Otherwise, pull in and stretch your legs a bit. There's fresh coffee in the visitor's center and clean restrooms around the corner. Feel free to browse through the site's resources—they're here to remind you who you are. And feel free to check back often as new resources are regularly added.

Sincerely,

Brad Castro
